50 Magical Rituals for your Fitness Journey

1. Visualize your Future Self

Take some time to visualize your future self, the you who HAS reached their health + fitness goals. How do they think + feel about themselves? What do they do every day? What is the same & what is different? The deeper you can go here the better!

2. Charge your water with energy

Take that feeling--the one you'll have when you've reached your goals--place your hands around your water & send the energy of the feeling into the water. Each time you drink water imagine that feeling charging your body up!

3. Call your power BACK from comparisons

When you find yourself playing the comparison game while scrolling on social media, stop, pause & put your hand where you feel that anxious comparison. Say this out loud: "I call back all of my power now. I call back any energy I've spent on comparisons past, present, & future. I call it all back to me now." Repeat 3x & continue as needed.

4. Make a voice recording of yourself

Activate the frequency & energy of your throat chakra by recording a motivational pep talk for your future self. When you're feeling low on motivation listen back to yourself & feel the energy you imbued your voice with!

5. Do an empowerment spell

Some types of witchcraft have very structured spells & some are more intuitive. Go with what feels right to you. Maybe grab a candle, some herbs that symbolize what you want to call in, a tarot card or a picture to represent your desire & visualize yourself filling up with the energy of your desires & goals. Call on your deities, throw in some offerings, & even dance to seal it off. Make it your own!

7. Coffee Magic

Visualize your goals when you're making your morning coffee or tea. Stir clockwise motions to bring in positive things/emotions. Stir counterclockwise to release resistance around your goals or ward off negativity. 

8. Infuse your reps with intention during your workout

Make your workout a ritual. This is your transformation space. Infuse each rep you do with the feeling of having your goal already. I am powerful *squat*
I am confident *lunge*
Each rep is physically transforming your body already... use energy to transform your mindset!

9. Shamanic Journeying

This is Em's biggest personal spiritual practice. When you need direction on your goals or are struggling with motivation, take a journey to meet with your guides. This is a specific type of meditation found throughout shamanic practices (ie Celtic Shamanism for Em) & she guides fitness clients on journeys to seek solutions. Step one to journeying is usually doing a Power Animal retrieval which is included in The Warrior Goddess Program course modules.

10. CLEANSE your energy when you feel body shame taking over

The MOMENT you notice thoughts of body shame take over stop what you're doing. Visualize yourself under a shower or waterfall & let the water wash the shame away until you're cleansed. Or use your favorite cleansing spray, smoke, or palo santo. You could even wear or keep selenite on hand & touch it as a physical cleansing reminder.

11. Tarot for Fitness

Yes. You can read tarot for your fitness journey too! Try a "body, mind, soul" 3 card reading for yourself. Alternatively sign up for a tarot for fitness reading with Em... these are the only types of tarot pulls she will do!

12. Imbue your food with intention while cooking 

Look up the spiritual significance of the herbs & ingredients you're cooking with & infuse extra intention as you add each ingredient. Example: garlic can help call in luck, promote health, ward off negativity, & protect against evil spirits *cough* vampires *cough* so as you add that garlic into your dish visualize the garlic's health properties amplifying to aid you on your fitness journey!

13. Perfume Magick

How will you feel when you've reached your fitness goals? Is there a certain perfume that smells like that feeling to you? For me, I enjoy feeling strong + powerful so Yves St. Lauren Black Opium perfume is my jam. As you spray the perfume on visualize the droplets casting a glamour over you, helping you to become the person who has already reached their goals. Make a promise to yourself that when you wear this scent that you will take action as your future self.

14. RITUALIZE your rest days 

If you get anxious about taking rest days from working out, you're not alone! Create a ritual for yourself such as getting out for a long nature walk & connecting to the trees/earth & ask them for help with healing + recovery so you're good to go the next day. Or have your rest day be your spell or ritual day, pull tarot cards, or have a bath spell day.

15. Self love dance ritual

If your body image is feeling low set aside 15 minutes. Find a few songs that match how you WANT to feel & let yourself move. Don't worry about getting the dance moves right. Move, shake, bump, & groove exactly how your body wants to. This is an act of self love in itself by allowing your body free reign to express itself without restriction. Make the vibes extra magical by lighting some candles, incense, galaxy lights & maybe even calling in a love goddess. Intention is everything with rituals!

16. Set energetic boundaries

For yourself: if you spend a lot of time worrying or thinking about others, set an energetic boundary with yourself + touch your nose each time you find yourself slipping back into old patterns. 
For others: If you're around people who drain your energy/make you feel like you're too much... visualize drawing your energy back into yourself when you're around them. 
There's deeper layers to this, but this is a start.

17. Meditate IN the gym

Em does this, why the hell not?!
Before or after your workout take a few minutes, put on your headphones, & set a timer. Visualize how your future self, the you who has reached their big goals, would act in the gym. How do they feel being in this space? What do they wear? What do they do?
The stronger your connection becomes the faster this becomes your reality!

18. Go to Float Tanks

Float tanks help you to get your brain into theta state without meditating 20+ years as a monk. Shamanic drum beats also induce a theta state for the purpose of deep journey meditations for communicating with your guides/deities. Em swears by float tanks up & down, they have changed her life. She goes 3-4x/month to find solutions & come up with creative ideas. Here's a podcast detailing some float tank stories:

19.  Do a painting/art spell

A key part of magic is getting our right, creative, brain on board. Look into color psychology, what colors match the intentions of your spell? What symbols can you paint? Allow your intuition to take over, create a sacred space, cast a circle, make an offering & paint/draw your intentions onto the page!

20. Candle Magic

Look into color psychology for this as well. Connect to your DEEPER why for fitness. Are you on a fitness journey because you want to love yourself more? Light some pink candles for self love! Are you on a fitness journey so that you'll feel more confident in your career or business? A green candle for $$ & abundance might be best! If you feel like food has power over you--grab a yellow candle! 

21.  Make an offering to a deity 

Any guide or deity can help you with your fitness journey. Make an offering to Aphrodite for self love & to aid you with releasing negative self talk. Make an offering to a war god/goddess for strength & empowerment in the gym! Ask Hecate for assistance with guiding you on your fitness journey 💪🏻

22. Ritualize your wins

This is something Em does every day & coaches in The Warrior Goddess Transformation Program (formerly known as MacroMind/Fitness Witch Academy). Celebrate & ritualize every. single. win. no matter how small! Every time someone new joins her team she has a dance ritual. Every time she notices a shift in her mindset she has a ritual too. How can you celebrate & ritualize your daily wins?

You already are worthy...

Worthy of succeeding on a fitness journey.

But you've been conditioned to think you need to "fix" yourself first.

23. Surround yourself with people who have the same goals

As empaths, we assimilate to the frequencies around us so it is hyper important to surround ourselves with people working on similar goals + growth mindsets. If no one around you believes in you or no one around you has successfully gone on a fitness journey... get yourself around people who ARE asap. Just being in the energy of people with similar goals will help you to elevate! And with online coaching programs... it's easier than ever.

24.  CONNECT TO NATURE 

Get outside distraction free. Listen to the wind in the trees, notice what wildlife is around, what signs do you notice?  As you walk, connect to the energy of the earth & visualize it healing, replenishing, & bolstering you up. Scientific studies back the healing power of nature... can you allow yourself to believe that walks outside can actively heal you & support you on your fitness journey?

25. Full Moon Ritual

What beliefs about yourself do you need to release in order to reach your fitness goals? Believing that you're not worthy, not capable. Perhaps beliefs that you always fail? Write them on a sheet of paper & burn them outside in the light of the full moon.

26. New Moon Ritual

Write out your desired fitness result. Journal on how you will think + feel when you have this result. How you will act. The deeper you can get into the feeling the better. Read it out loud & then burn it to manifest your desires over the next moon cycle.

27. JOURNAL PROMPT: 

If your body had a voice, one that was deeply loving... what would it say to you? What desires does it have for you? What does it need to feel safe? What would it like for you to know?

28. Practice TRUSTING your anxiety

Our feelings are really our body's way of communicating with us... aka our intuition. If your anxiety had a voice... what would it be trying to tell you? Also psst... 29. ANGER Dance ritual

As witches... our feelings are really our source of our magic & our power. Rather than feeling shame for having anger or shoving it down... ritualize it & amplify it with an angry dance ritual. Amplifying your feelings will help you to amplify your magic.

31. WAR GODDESS STRENGTH INVOCATION

Deity work is unique to everyone's practice. Just as you would not like helping someone endlessly for nothing in return... apply the same principle here & give a small offering. A simple dish of water, wine, rose petals will be just fine if its offered with the right intention. Do this before a difficult workout, when you're feeling low motivated, or needing to keep your head held high around difficult people:

31. Do a DEATH RITUAL

What part of you needs to die in order for you to reach your goals? What do you need to let go of? Have a ceremonial death ritual for the old version of you to become the new you!

32. FILM yourself 

Do you see yourself? Really? Use a tripod or prop your phone up to film yourself working out, dancing, or even cleaning your home. As you watch it back... do you see your strength? Your energy? What can you appreciate about your body in this video? And then go deeper: Can you look beneath skin deep to SEE yourself? If you could see your aura what color would it be? Stare at yourself, letting your eyes unfocus, & let yourself listen to what your energy is telling you...

33. Connect the dots… how does your fitness journey deepen your spiritual practice? 

The way we do one thing is the way we do all things... it's all connected. Allow your mind to go deeper & find the connection. It's there. Allow yourself to see it.

What type of person is your future self? The one who has reached their fitness goals, has the business, the career, the relationship of their dreams. How do they feel? How can your skincare or makeup routine support this? Em wears gold highlighter every day to remind herself of her power & chunky pink glitter on her eyes for self love, magic, & as an offering to Aphrodite. What could you do as a glamour magick get ready routine?

Witches don't let themselves stay stuck. They believe in their own magic, their own power. They find solutions to all of life's "problems" from their spellwork, to herbs, to divining for answers when they themselves don't know. They are DETERMINED to succeed & they know when to ask for help... even when they're scared or nervous.

37. Shadow work

We're not the "love & light high vibe only" crew here. That is toxic positivity & spiritual bypassing.

38. Gratitude Magic

Light a candle, grab your bottle or a glass of water & write a list of everything you're grateful for in your life right now. How do you feel about each one? Expand the energy of each piece of gratitude fully in your body. After moving through each piece, place your hands around the water & pour all of that gratitude energy into the water. Drink the water to call in more abundance, more gratitude, & more fitness wins.

39.  Forgiveness Ritual

The real magic of forgiveness lies in forgiving ourselves. Em went through 2 cycles of emotional/binge eating before she learned to trust herself again, then built an entire course & a new methodology to help women grow from emotional eating to lose weight successfully... that wouldn't have happened if she viewed her past as a failure. 
Sit down, light some candles, create a sacred space & write a forgiveness letter to yourself. Forgive yourself for all the "failed" diets, the yo yos, the self sabotage. Cleanse yourself after writing & burn the letter to start fresh with your journey. You are worthy of success... no matter how many times you've tried & failed.

40. BODY LOVE MIRROR RITUAL

Sit down in front of a mirror. Start with your feet & gently massage your way up your body. Visualize sending your body love & healing energy as you go. Spend extra time on any areas of your body you may have send hateful/harmful thoughts to. Finally after covering your whole body, stare at yourself in the eyes & send yourself love, gratitude, & healing energy.

41. CRYSTAL WORK 

What crystals promote what you need for your fitness journey? Would wearing a black protective crystal like Black Tourmaline or Obsidian help you to feel safer going to the gym? 42. Make an offering to Aphrodite:

The goddess of love (or any goddess of love!) isn't just about romantic love. It's about self love. Aphrodite gets bashed for being vain & arrogant... just like powerful women today are bashed for being... vain & arrogant. Make an offering to her of water with rose petals, fresh flowers, or anything you consider to be beautiful... & ask for her to help you to see your own beauty.

43.  FEELINGS ARE POWER 

We've been disconnected from our intuition & our divine feminine energies for so long. The seat of our magic LIES within our feelings & intuition. You've heard of left brain right brain right? The logical left brain... and the creative, emotional, intuitive right brain? Your feelings ARE your power. But when we're scared of our anxiety, our sadness, our loneliness... it leads to things like emotional eating (or emotionally NOT eating) so The Warrior Goddess Transformation Program curriculum is founded upon helping you to create safety within your body to trust yourself & your emotions... then goes even deeper into emotional embodiment & somatic work for inner child healing, building your intuition, & healing your relationship with food.

44. Get Psychic

The process of building your psychic abilities + intuition involves learning to trust yourself & the "hits" you get. This directly corresponds with trusting your body again which can help you to trust yourself around food + on a fitness journey again.

45. Journal Prompt:

If you were an all powerful witch who could wave her hands & change their reality instantly... what would you allow yourself to want? What would you change about yourself? What would you be doing? 
After writing... what beliefs do you have that tell you those things aren't possible? That's where you're giving your magic/power away.

46.  Call your power back from food

When feeling anxious/uneasy about food, bring the food to mind or look at it if its in front of you. Out loud or in your mind say: "I call back all of my power now from this [food]. All the power I gave it, all power that diet culture took from me, & all that I lost throughout the years. I call it all back to me now." Repeat 3x, pausing between to breath in the energy of your power returning.

47. Self love Bath Spell

Light some candles, get a bath bomb or bubble bath going & sprinkle some rose petals in. Cleanse your energy before getting in with a spray/palo santo to clear any negativity. Set an intention before getting in... what is your purpose for doing this self love ritual? What is your desired result? Why do you want to love yourself more? As you bathe keep your mind focused on self love or do a guided meditation while soaking.

48. Give Tapping a try

The act of simply tapping bilaterally helps to reduce anxiety, stress, & blood pressure & bring our brains back into alignment. When we add specific phrases or affirmations it can help us to reprogram our brains. 49. Let your sweat BE an offering

Spells & Rituals require energy to be effective. Your entire workout can be an offering. An offering of energy to the universe to aid you in your transformation. A devotional offering to a guide or deity whose assistance you've asked for. Heat IS the energy of change. Where do you want to direct that energy in your life?

50. APPLY STRATEGY

Spells are like recipes, the more random you are, the less effective you are… just like your fitness journey. 
For a fitness journey to be effective in the long term you need a combination of Mindset + Strategy + Action. You can't just do the manifestation spell, you still have to apply strategy & take aligned actions to get your desired results.
